Jarmila Groth

Her Childhood

 Jarmila Gajdosova was born in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 1987, 26 April. Her mother's name is Jarmila, her father, Jan they are engineers. In fisrt time, Jarka was left handed but her parents want she become right-handed. But Jarka born premature and her body right side was paralize. Her parents help her and  they have done massages, stretching during her childhood. She start tennis at seven years old
 She plays in junior tournament but very quickly, she plays with the senior. 2 semi-finals in junior grand chelem, winning with Hlavackova in Italian open in 2003.
She start profresional career in 2005, she had only 18 years old. 

Professional career.

In 2005, she she qualified for the annuel WTA Tour in Hydeberad. She won her second tournament in Catania, Italy  after Rabat in 2003. In final, she won vs Ivana Abramovic.
She entered qualifing in French Open, she won the first leg but lost vs Sofia Ardvisson.She won in Felixstowe her second tournament of the year and for her 17 years-old. She had improved her year-end ranking to No. 147 at WTA ranking.In 2006, Jarka start at the Australian Open, she start for the first time in the first tour of a grand chelem. She lost vs Martina Muller but she gained experience. She won after txo tournament, in Sydney and Gosford. In may, she decided to return in the WTA circuit in Berlin. She lost in the second round of the qualifying. She start the qualifying in Rome but lost in the first round vs Vicrotia Azarenka.She entered in French open, she won the first round vs Cohen Aloro but lost the second vs Schnyder. The following week, she started the ITF tournament in Prostejov, she won vs two Czech player (one of them was Safarova n.31). She lost the quarter final vs Oprandi.
She reached the n°86 ranking. At Birmingham, she won vs Meng before lost vs Japense Sugiyama. In Estbourne, she won all the qualifying round but lost vs the no.2 Anastasia Myskina. She lost her first round in Wimbledon, one week later vs Australian Nicole Pratt.
At the Vittel event, she won vs Olivia Sanchez, the following week, she lost vs Suchà in WTA tournament in Budapest. 
She start Us Open, she reached the thiird round but lost vs Dinara Safina.
  Jarka finish this 2006 year at the No. 71 at WTA Ranking.
In 2007, she lost in first round at the Australian Open and in february she reached the semifinals in Las Vegas. In March, after losing in Indian Wells, Jarka qualifying for the main draw in Miami but losing vs Catalina Castano 6-3 7-5. After Jarka reach a quarter final in Prague and lost in the first round in French Open.
In Wimbly, Jarka was vs Jankovic in the second round, the Serbian are better this day but Jarka took many experience (I think) this day. 2 month later, in US open, Jarka played Jankovic again. She lost again but Jarmila take experience the year.

The year of revelation.

In 2008, Jarka started her year in Gold Coast vs Safina. She lost in 3 sets. In Austrlaian Open, Jarka was againt Serena  Williams, no 7. She lost but after jankovicin Frenhc Open and US Open, Jarka hadn't luck in Gran Chelem.
She finish this year with 4 tournaments wins: Gimcheon, Kawana, Traralgon, Taipei.
With this 4 titles, she had in 2009, 11 itf cricuit singles titles.
In 2009, Jarka play a beautiful tennis, she start at Brisbane but she lost in the second round vs Victoria Azarenka, the future winner of the tournament. In Sydney, in the second round she was opposite to Elena Dementieva, the future tournament winner again. At he Australian Open, she lost vs Razzano in three sets.
She celebrated her marriage with Samuel Groth in February.
Next, in Roland-Garros, Jarka wins vs Laisne and Duque Marino. After she was opposite to... Jelena  Jankovic and unfortunately Jankovic win... but Jarka garned a lot of experience. In Wimbly, Jarka wins in the first round vs Safarova but find a great player: Serena Williams in the second. After Roland-Garros and Wimbledon Jarka a beautiful place of 57 in Wta. She earned this place with her beautiful tennis style, game... and it's merited.
She takes rest due to an injury and she doesn't play in US open.
In Novembre, she become an Australian Citizenship.


2010...

In early, she lost in the Brisbane qualifiyng, in the first round in Australian Open, maybe she xas not quite recovered from her injury. But afew weeks later, she wins in Sydney the ITF Challenge, she's finalist in Burnie...
In French Open, she receive a wild card and she honors her wild card because she reach the 1/8. She wins vs Yung-jan, Date Krumm (who win vs Safina in the first round!), and vs Rodionova. She lost vs Shvedova in 1/8 but I was in this Roland-Garros for one week-end,( I could not see Jarka because she didn't play this week-end) and I can say Jarka was encouraged by many people and it was great to read a press article(in the main french sport newspaper: l'Equipe) about the beautiful Jarka open.
In Wimbledon Jarka republishes the same performance, she wins vs Voracova, Oudin, Kerber and she was defeated by Venus Williams.
She's the second Australian tennis woman in the WTA Ranking, after Samantha Stosur. In US Open, she lost i the first round vs Sharapova.
In middle September, she win the most big and important of her carreer title in Guangzhou, her first WTA title. She win this tournament with a disconcerting ease.
She receive a new ranking, her best since the beginning of her career.



Jarka was nominated for Newcombe Medal who Samantha Stosur win the award. Another rocognition to her beautiful season.

Personal Life.

 Jarka play in Australian Open  when she was 14 years old, she falling in love for this country. She met Samuel Groth, an Australian tennis player, and in february 2009, she marries with him. She become an Australian citizenship on Monday 23 november 2009 with a ceremony at the National Museum of Australia.
